POSITION SUMMARY: The Executive Director will lead and oversee all aspects of the organization and collaborate with the Board of Directors regarding operations and performance. Staff management & mentorship, financial management, fundraising oversight and program development will be the main priorities and focus. Communications and public speaking, as well as developing relationships with media outlets to promote the organization will be essential.

Organizational Leadership and Board of Directors Relations:
- Oversee all aspects of the organization’s operations and staff
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to ensure that the organization is fulfilling its mission
- Provide regular updates to the Board of Directors regarding the organization’s operations and performance
- Work with the Board of Directors to develop and implement policies and procedures that support the organization’s mission and goals.
Staff Management & Mentorship:
- Serve as a leader and mentor to the organization’s staff by providing guidance, motivation, and support to help them succeed in their roles
- Ensure that staff members are fulfilling their roles effectively by setting measurable goals and work with them to identify opportunities for improvement and growth
- Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration, encouraging staff members to contribute their unique perspectives and talents
Financial Management & Leadership:
- Oversee the organization’s financial management in partnership with the Development Director and Treasurer, ensuring that the organization is financially sound and operating with financial prudence for long-term sustainability.
- Oversee the organization’s annual budget, working with the Development Director and the Board to ensure that it aligns with the organization’s goals and priorities.
- Review financial performance on an ongoing basis and ensure accurate financial reports are provided to the Board of Director in a timely manner.
Fundraising and Development:
- Provide leadership and direction to the Development Director in fundraising and development activities, ensuring that efforts are aligned with the organization’s mission and goals, with a focus on securing major gifts and individual donations
- Work with the Board of Directors and other stakeholders to establish fundraising priorities and opportunities, including annual giving campaigns, special events, and grant applications
Program Delivery and Development
- Work with the Board to develop and implement a strategic program planning process to identify programs that align with the organization’s mission and goals, collaborating closely with staff, volunteers, and other stakeholders to ensure that programs are effective, efficient, and meet the needs of the organization’s constituents
- Provide direct services for education, consultation and facilitation of survivor groups and retreats.
- Expand programs and services as appropriate to fulfill the organization’s mission, working with the Board of Directors and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for growth and innovation
- Promote the organization’s programs and services to key stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, community partners, and the media, to increase awareness and support for the organization’s mission
Communications & Public Speaking:
- Engage audiences in educational conferences and other events on topics related to the organizations’ work
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to increase the organization’s visibility and reach
- Function as the organization’s spokesperson for media and represent the organization at public events and speaking engagements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or at least five years of experience in nonprofit management or a related field
- Five or more years’ experience in managing staff
- Proven record of accomplishment of success in non-profit or related field management
- Demonstrated experience in strategic thinking/planning and balancing short-term needs with long-term planning
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising and development
- Knowledge of nonprofit financial management, budgeting, fundraising and development
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, Board of Directors, donors, sponsors, and other stakeholders
- Passion for the organization’s mission and values
- Capacity to engage in daily and public conversations about child sexual abuse and related trauma
- Ability to work within an ecumenical Christian theological framework for programs serving congregations
HOURS
- Flexible business hours Monday-Friday / Other days & hours as needed for events and meetings
